EnMAP

EnMAP is a German satellite mission providing accurate, quantitative information about the evolution of terrestrial ecosystems. Its hyper-spectral capabilities allow it to provide high-quality and consistent data, used for the detection of biophysical, biochemical, and geochemical variables.

DSI is in charge of the design and development of the Instrument Control and Processing Unit (ICPU), a dedicated electronics box supervising the instrument operations, controlling and monitoring the local sub-functions including mechanism control, and managing the data streams from the detectors to the storage facilities. DSI is also responsible for the Data Storage and Handling Assembly (DSHA), which operates within the payload data handling section, and manages the storage of the HSI data with a rate of 1.3 Gbps, as well as its compression & formatting in preparation for downlink to the Ground Segment.
